Oscillating between artistic agency and disquietude over the historical, industrial, and ecological conditions associated with the production and consumption of concrete and plastic, the work confesses its materiality as an amalgam of contaminant matter foreshadowed by a found decorative stepping stone. The “muck of ages”, an accumulated psyche inherited generationally, informs and forms the supernormal landscapes Peter Eramian focuses on. For the title of this work, the artist puts together the titles of “It Ain't Me Babe”, a song by Bob Dylan released in 1964, and “I Got You Babe”, a song written by Sonny Bono in response to Dylan's song.

Sculptural installation first presented at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre as part of the exhibition Hypersurfacing curated by Marina Christodoulidou, Nicosia, 2019-2020.
